At present, under Assam, Shri Basaveshwara Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital and Research Centre only teach one main course which is Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This particular curriculum is a full time programme and takes six years for the completion of the course which constitutes the training of its students in Ayurveda. The college has been approved to take only 60 students in this course for the year and thus the students who wish to study Ayurvedic medicine can easily gain admission to the course. 

Shri Basaveshwara Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital and Research Centre offers Admission through the Score obtained in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). This examination is equally compulsory for the students who wish to pursue BAMS course at national level. The NEET scores are accepted by the college and it also considers the scores important for admission as they allow them to admit student with a sound knowledge in the basic sciences.
