Shri SD Patil College of Architecture and Design, Islampur, was set up in 2016, and therefore can be categorised as a new architecture college. Established in Urun-Islampur, Maharashtra, this college has a variety of degree and diploma courses in Architecture & Design. It is accredited by the Council of Architecture, which sets the standard of quality in architectural institutions. Located on a space of 2 acres, the college has a strength of 69 students and 11 faculty. At present, the institute teaches 10 courses at three levels of degrees, focusing on different specialities of architecture and designing. 

The college has various equipment to ensure that students get necessary ingredients for their academic and personal development. Thus, the library is an important information centre for architectural study and reference. Lab facilities are equipped to handle all the practical aspects of architectural education where students are free to test theories. Supplementary food can be provided in a cafeteria on the campus. 

Shri SD Patil College of Architecture and Design also has an event and seminar performance college, which enhances the learning atmosphere of the college for intellectual improvement. Playground and gym, which are available to students, encourage them to maintain physical fitness. Computer-related facilities are up to date to promote use of advanced technology in the solutions being offered by students. An equipped health centre is also on the site with first aid amenities in case of any mishap that occurs. 

Shri SD Patil College of Architecture and Design provides a variety of architecture courses. It offers ten complete programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The most famous programme is the B.Arch, which is approved to have an intake of 40 students. Some of the specific specialisation areas offered at the postgraduate level of the college include the following: General Architecture, Urban design/Planning, Construction/Project Management, Advanced Digital Architecture Design, Architecture Conservation, Product Designing, Landscape architecture and Interior Design. But for more specialised interests, there is the Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture programme. 

Shri SD Patil College of Architecture and Design has given special importance to admission through entrance examinations. Students seeking admission to the B.Arch programme have to clear the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). This is a nationwide examination which evaluates the readiness of candidates to undertake architectural studies.
