Shri Shivaji College of Education, Amravati, founded in 1960, is one of the renowned institutions that groom the life of future teachers. It is a co-educational college located in Shivaji Nagar, Amravati, Maharashtra, on a vast 16.22-acre campus. The quality education from the institute has also been certified by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. It is an affiliated college, hence comes under the purview of NCTE to maintain national level educational standards. With the current enrolment of 96, a faculty strength of 6 is in place to have a focused learning environment; catering to 3 courses in education. 

Shri Shivaji College of Education has got numerous facilities to enhance the learning environment and overall development of students. It has a library with the treasure of knowledge containing more than 15,000 books. Along with a well-equipped gymnasium, there is a lot of space provided for sports activities within the institute. It has big grounds which include hockey, volleyball, kabaddi, basketball, and cricket. The comfort of the students has been taken into consideration by the institute through separate hostel facilities for the students, with a capacity of 42 boys and 70 girls. Each of the hostels has a well-furnished eatery and a peaceful environment that enables study and overall development. The college has its march towards technology proven by the existing high-quality IT infrastructure; all computers are connected to LAN and internet facilities provided to students and staff. 

Shri Shivaji College of Education offers three full time courses in teacher education, accommodating three levels. These span from two undergraduate programmes in Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Education to the doctoral programme in Education. In the undergraduate category, the highest intake is B.P.Ed., which has 100 seats; for B.Ed., it is 50; and in the Ph.D. programme, there are 24 seats. 

The admission process at Shri Shivaji College of Education is formulated in such a way that it only takes the most deserving candidates out of the applicants. Admission to the B.P.Ed course is made according to merit determined from marks obtained in the entrance exam conducted through a written test, fitness test, and interview, along with the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination. Likewise, consideration for the B.Ed. course could be done through marks from the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination.
