Sir Chhotu Ram Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut is a government college that was established in 2002. The primary aim of this institute is to train students in such a way that they have necessary global competence, vision, and skills to meet the challenges of the emerging global knowledge economy. The Institute is affiliated to the Ch. Charan Singh University, Meerut and is approved by AICTE. 

At Sir Chhotu Ram Institute of Engineering and Technology, Meerut, students are offered BTech and MTech in various specializations. Some of the SCRIET Meerut specializations include Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. SCRIET Meerut admission to BTech courses is done through JEE Main, while for MTech, students have to appear for GATE or any other entrance exam conducted by State Technical University / Ch. Charan Singh University. 

At SCRIET Meerut, students are provided with a wide range of facilities including but not limited to library, auditorium, power house, guest house, hostel and canteen. Moreover, to help students getting placed before completing their course, the institute has a separate SCRIET Meerut placement cell. The placement cell at SCRIET Meerut connects with various industrial establishments and corporate houses that conduct campus interviews.
