SJB College of Education was set up in the year 2004 in Bangalore and is one of the well-known institutions offering teacher education. This affiliated college is situated at BGS Health & Education City, Kengeri, Bangalore South, and the college lies on twelve acres of land. SJB College of Education has 86 students and 14 faculty members. This institution offers only one course, and that is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme, which is a full-time two-year course. In its capacity as a co-educational institute, it admits students from different parts of the community and hence encourages an effective education environment.

SJB College of Education, Bangalore is an affiliated college of Bangalore University, Bangalore. SJB College of Education has put in place quality facilities aimed at complementing the learning achievement as well as the overall personality of the student. Sports amenities on the campus are well developed to ensure students engage in physical activities and the spirit of teamwork and sports among trainee teachers. An auditorium consists of an area for a wide range of events and seminars and also an area for academic and cultural activities. The library of the college contains educational material and plays an appropriate role in addressing student needs and requirements. 

Facilities like departments’ laboratories allow students to practise, and it is important for a practical teacher. First aid facilities in a health centre contribute to the health of students, and a gym keeps students fit. Good IT support is made sure to improve the students’ awareness of the ongoing IT development both in and out of the college. The institution has canteen services for food and drinks for both the staff and students, as well as accommodation from guest rooms for the visiting faculty and students’ relatives due to its hospitality nature.

SJB College of Education only offers the B.Ed programme, of which only 50 students are allowed for admission for the education faculty. This specialisation results in the fact that the college can focus on the effective preparation of the necessary number of competent educators. The programme is available for students to complete within two years of full-time studies, and the course is aimed at preparing students for teaching practice by providing every essential knowledge and pragmatic skills needed. Although the college of education only has one degree programme, it provides students with thorough training in different aspects of teaching in order to prepare them for the many demands of the teaching profession.

SJB College of Education follows the admission procedure recommended by the State Government, UT Administration and the affiliated University. Admission into the courses are ‘standard based’, and are offered after considering the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or interview. The college may also use other filtering techniques as recommended by the state of art procedures.
