Smt Nagarathnamma College of Nursing, SNCN which was started in the year 2003 is a top leading nursing college in Bangalore, Karnataka. This affiliated college having five acres of campus area is accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC). Currently, SNCN has 2 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate courses with a total student enrolment intake of 208. The college is staffed with forty one members out of which faculty associates provide individual attention to students maintaining a healthy student teacher ratio. As a school, there are more male students 60% and less female students, 40% and hence SNCN plays its part in propounding the cause of gender essential in nursing..

Smt. Nagarathnamma College of Nursing  is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. Students in the college are assured of a good environment for learning within and outside the class. These include a resource centre, laboratories, hostels, dining facilities, pharmacy, dental clinic, sick bay, chapel, bank, post office and store. For the convenience of out of station students, the campus has two different hostels for boys and girls respectively. Resource centre in the form of a library is an effective knowledge centre with practical laboratories requisite for the nursing education. This also has a health centre to which the college pays much attention as far as students’ welfare is concerned and first aid facilities. For those who care about their physical health, SNCN is equipped with the possibility of exercising in the sports’ facilities and using gym. The campus also has Information Technology infrastructure so as to enhance E-learning. The institution has a cafeteria whereby special diets for students and staff are addressed. Furthermore, the college provides transport facilities and thereby students can easily commute for day scholars.

SNCN offers its courses at the undergraduate and the postgraduate level and in total has seven full time courses. The college provides two undergraduate programmes: there are four years B.Se Nursing programme with 60 intake capacity and two years Post Basic B.Se Nursing programme seats for 25 students. At postgraduate level, SNCN has developed five M.Sc Nursing specialties offered for 5 students each in 2-year course available as follows; These are M.Sc in; Medical Surgical Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Paediatric Nursing and Community Health Nursing. In total, the college has been given an approval to admit 110 students for all the courses offered and this we believe serves to uphold quality education by limiting the numbers in each class.
