Sri Ramana Maharshi Institute of Nursing Sciences, Tumkur, Karnataka, is one of the top-most Nursing colleges in Karnataka. This affiliated college was founded in 2003, and for more than twenty years, it has been educating future doctors and other health care providers. Located on a vast area of 60 acres, the institute provides an appropriate background for the preparation of professional nurses. It is INC recognised that the institute enhances the standard of education in nursing. Currently, the institute has a total student enrolment capability of admitting 276 students and 45 faculty members, which makes it possible for the institute to accord adequate attention and focus to its teaching profession. These include 3 degree courses and 8  courses in the area of nursing in order to meet the challenge and need of various emphases in nursing.

Sri Ramana Maharshi Institute of Nursing Sciences, Tumkur, is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. Sri Ramana Maharshi Institute of Nursing Sciences has numerous designed facilities which are very useful for the learning system of the students. It stands as a centre of learning, providing the school with 2,069 books, 1,840 of which are classified books and 229 general books. It also offers access to national and international journals, which create an environment that is conducive to academic one.

The institute is sensitive to the safety of its students and hosts 200 boys and another 400 girls in the institute hostel, respectively. In these hostels, food, potable water, and recreation amenities are provided with accurate hygiene. Health-related emergencies are handled by the first aid facility, which has been established on campus. The institute even manages a bus service also and it provides transport facilities to different parts of Tumkur city, routing through different routes.

Sri Ramana Maharshi Institute of Nursing Sciences has a complete package of nursing courses. Currently, the institute offers 8 full-time courses to cover nursing education at different tiers. These are diploma-like GNM, undergraduate courses that include B.Sc Nursing and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, along with post-graduate courses in many specializations of nursing. The approved annual intake for all courses is one hundred and forty-five students a year, proving that the institute still offers quality education and, as such, maintains small groups in each class.
