Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a two-year full-time undergraduate course approved by National Council for Technical Education (NCTE) and offered by Pondicherry University, Puducherry.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have scored a minimum of 50% of marks in part-III (Main + Allied) of the Bachelor’s degree course or in the master’s degree course. Both Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree should be in the same subject. [A minimum of 45% marks for OBC, MBC and Physically challenged Candidates and 40% marks for SC and ST Candidates]
The reservation for SC, ST, OBC, MBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the concerned state / UT Government.
A candidate who has taken more than one school subject as main (Double or Triple major) in the Bachelor’s degree will be eligible for admission to only one of the school subjects.
There is no upper age limit for admission to one year B.Ed course.

Admission Details

The students are admitted for Bachelor of Education (B. Ed – one year course).
They shall fulfill the requirement of basic minimum qualification and age limit as may be prescribed and as may be amended by the authorities concerned from time to time.
The selection for admission to the above course shall be based on the merit list drawn for each subject.
The selection list will be limited to the extent of the number of admission for the course and the remaining list of candidates will be known as “Waiting list”.
If the selected candidates do not turn up within the time limit prescribed then the students from the waiting list, on the basis of their merit, shall be admitted for the course.
