Srimanta Sankar Madhab College at Barpeta is a branch of the education system in Assam, India which was set up in 1991. The school is co-educational and is located in the beautiful village of Bhatkuchi and was been established more than 3 decades ago. A large campus-based institution with a 19-acre spread, the college provides a number of undergraduate programmes, with an emphasis on arts, particularly humanities. Presently the college has 467 students and 36 faculty members and this ensures that the college is person-centred and outcomes-focused. The college boasts of these general facilities which enhance the all-round development of the learners. 

Srimanta Sankar Madhab College's library plays an important role as an information hub with spacious different categories of books both local and foreign journals and other research materials. To support practical learning the college offers a high-quality departmental laboratory for interactive learning.
