St Teresa's Institute of Education, Mumbai which is also known as STIE Mumbai was established in the year 1973 by the sisters of the Congregation of Carmelite Religious. STIE Mumbai courses are offered in a total of 2 programmes in the disciplines of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and Education at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the B.Ed and MA Education degree courses. For STIE Mumbai admissions to the said undergraduate programme a valid score card of MHT B.Ed CET entrance test is needed as for postgraduate programme a valid Bachelor’s degree certificate is required.

STIE Mumbai college has been accredited by the National Assessments and Accreditations Council (NAAC) and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). St Teresa's Institute of Education Mumbai college is also affiliated to the University of Mumbai, Mumbai (MU Mumbai).
