State Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Jabalpur (SIHMCT&AN) is a premier institute to study hospitality and catering technology. This co-educational institute was set up in the year 2016 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh in proximity to the IIITDM Jabalpur. SIHMCT&AN is situated in a vast area of 10 acres to provide numerous distinct programmes in the hospitality industry. The institute has 9 faculty members and offers 6 programmes at two degrees with trainings in different fields of hospitality management and culinary industry. 

For students, SIHMCT&AN aims at offering hi-tech infrastructures to help prepare them for their studies. In terms of facilities, each institute has well equipped library containing latest books and magazines to improve the academic knowledge of the students. This facility includes many new computers, LAN and Wi-Fi connection is also available with browsing latest trends of the industry. The classrooms provided are professional learning environments equipped with the aid of LCD projectors. The athletic facilities for the physical health include badminton, chess, cricket, football and carrom etc for the inmates of the institute which includes all genders. The campus also houses separate hostels for boys and girls, having the total of 70 and 40 seats respectively with shared accommodation.

SIHMCT& AN has full time multi discipline course to provide the hospitality industry with its diversified need. The institute’s longest course offered is the 3 year Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Hotel Administration programme. Additionally, it offers five 2-year diploma programmes such as Food Production, Bakery and Confectionery, Food and Beverage Service Operation and House Keeping and Front Office Operation diploma. Such programmes are intended to equip the students with academic content knowledge and industry skills desirable for the hospitality industry. 

Admission of students at SIHMCT&AN is highly competitive in order to ensure that institutions chooses the most competent students for its programmes. For the B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration, the institute has laid down certain admission criteria and accepts score card of the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE). Taking this national level examination ensures that only the suited students with the necessary skills required for the programme make it to the programme. Regarding the diploma courses, it can be assumed that the institute takes into account the grades obtained in pertinent subjects and may have its own procedure of admission.
