It is a unit of Tadikela Subbaiah Trust and is recognised by the Medical Council of India. SIMS Shimonga is affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore, and provides several medical degrees.
The college offers courses such as MBBS, MD and MS. SIMS Shimonga course in MBBS is an undergraduate course having the duration of 5.5 years. The postgraduate courses of the college are MD and MS having the duration of 3 years. SIMS Shimonga MBBS course has 250 seats and the MD and MS courses combinedly have 111 seats.
Students are required to pass the 10+2 examination along with the NEET UG for the SIMS Shimonga admissions in the MBBS course. For postgraduate courses such as MD and MS admissions, the students require an MBBS degree along with NEET PG. Students are required to clear the NEET cutoff for admission to different courses.
SIMS Shimoga facilities help in promoting health and wellness among the students.
