Swami Shukdevanand Postgraduate College, Shahjahanpur, was established in the year 1964. The college is situated at Rohilkhand. Currently, this college has a sprawling campus covering approximately 6.35 acres with a student enrolment of 5,191 and faculty strength of 65. The college is offering 24 courses in 13 degree programs. It is an NAAC accredited and NCTE approved institution, ensuring quality education in this field, down through Arts, Science, Commerce, and Education. 

The college boasts of having a full range of facilities that can act as alternative options to enhance the experiences of students within the college: a library well-stocked with reference materials and extra resources for maintaining intellectual interest. The institution has great importance in terms of physical well-being, and there are two big playing fields for sports and an indoor stadium which possesses all facilities of football, cricket, hockey, tennis, and other games. For problems related to health, there is a medical center with first-aid facilities on campus. All the students of the college are treated to having modern IT infrastructures for all digital learning initiatives. Hostel facilities for about 70 inmates are given to the girls coming from places other than the city. The campus comprises a gymnasium, laboratories for practical learning, and an auditorium and conference halls for events and seminars. 

Swami Shukdevanand Postgraduate College follows all-around academic programs catering for a diversity of educational aspirations. The college has 24 courses in the curriculum of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs with mixed options of full-time and self-financed. The course stretches over the Faculty of Arts (BA, MA), the Faculty of Science (B.Sc, M.Sc), the Faculty of Commerce (B.Com, M.Com), the Faculty of Education (B.Ed, M.Ed, D.El.Ed), and the Faculty of Computer Applications (BCA, PGDCA). 

The college takes admission on merit. For the purpose, the colleges consider marks obtained in qualifying examinations and/or entrance tests, as per the policies of the state government and the affiliated university. The D.El.Ed, B.Ed, and M.Ed affiliate programs are also admitted to college through a process-oriented admission procedure in most of the cases widely involving an entrance test and/or under other selection procedures. As mentioned above, the college is also in regular touch with its alumni, which sometimes provides proper career services and sets a networking opportunity between the past and present students.
