    Tagore Dental College and hospital was set up in 2007 in a sprawling campus in Rathinamangalam near Vandalur in Chennai. Being a co-educational affiliated college, this college has a 7.13-acre campus that is accredited to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and approved with the Dental Council of India (DCI). This college has 452 students and a total 179 faculties; they have 6 courses across 2 degrees. The institute boasts a diverse student body with a 93% undergraduate and 7% postgraduate composition, maintaining a balanced gender ratio of 1:3 (male to female).

    The college has numerous amenities to support learning and make the student comfortable in class. These include a separate hostel for boys and girls and good prices for accommodation. Banana Island facilities include a health centre with first aid treatment and physical fitness provided through a modern gym. The library provides research and informational needs as a resource for both learning and collegiate uses.     The Tagore Dental College and Hospital was recognised as offering a total of six courses, out of which 5 are postgraduate and 1 are undergraduate. The BDS is the university’s most populated undergraduate course, with one hundred intakes and spanning five academic years for the full-time programme. At the postgraduate level, the college has designed and is offering four programmes that include three years of Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) each. Specialised courses are Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics, Prosthodontics Crown & Bridges, and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. There are in total 110 approved intakes at all courses put together, allowing a good chance for anybody who wants to develop into a dental specialist.
