TJ Institute of Technology (TJIT) was established in the year 2001 as a self-financing institution located at Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Located in a large complex of 10.08 acres, TJIT provides a wide variety of engineering and management courses. The institute is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and it is an affiliated college. Having a faculty team of 153, TJIT has set a benchmarkin providing education to the students across fifteen courses offered under four degree programmes. It is seen that the institute maintains a high level of academic recognition by having well-equipped infrastructures and by focusing on the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Cyber Security among others.

TJ Institute of Technology is affiliated with Anna University, Chennai. TJ Institute of Technology has several facilities that can facilitate the learning process and development of the students. It includes a well-equipped laboratory for Operating Systems, Network laboratory, a VLSI/DSP laboratory, and a CAD/CAM laboratory available on the campus. The central library contains 27959 books and 5800 titles, including online journals and NPTEL video lectures. 

The schools are supported by several high-performance computers, over three hundred, and wireless internet connection throughout the academic complex. The institute addresses physical health with adequate sports facilities, such as a playground for outdoor games and an indoor stadium to conduct games such as basketball, badminton and many more. The hostels have separate sections for boys and girls, which feature comfortable furniture and bedding, essential modern amenities, and important rules and regulations that are strictly adhered to.

TJ Institute of Technology is endowed with a composite curriculum of academic programmes to meet requirements of different engineering disciplines and management sciences. Currently, TJIT has 15 full-time programmes in its offering portfolio, divided into undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications. The undergraduate programmes (B.Tech/BE) include the conventional engineering disciplines of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science and the emerging streams of AI & Data Science. The postgraduate course offerings at TJIT include MBA and MCA programmes as well as ME specialised programmes in Applied Electronics, Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering Design and Power Systems Engineering. The total approved intake across all courses currently is 864 seats, which, from the institute’s perspective, ensures that a large number of students with the desire and ability to be professionals are trained each year.

TJ Institute of Technology follows a strict admission process that is all-rounded and bases its selection on merits. For undergraduate programmes in Engineering, the students are admitted based on TNEA counselling, in which the performance of the students is evaluated. MBA as well as MCA courses in various universities invite scores from the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). The institute also recognises the Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission scores for some of the postgraduate engineering programmes also. TJIT firmly upholds the principle of multicultural openness and aims at admitting students of different backgrounds.
