One of the major institutions of higher education in Karchantola, Jamugurihat, Assam, Tyagbir Hem Baruah College, was founded in the year 1963. The college, which is a co-educational college, is affiliated with Gauhati University and graded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Situated on 40.5 acres of sprawling campus areas, THB College offers varied undergraduate programmes of study in a co-educational mode. With 1,731 students in the college and a faculty strength of 37, this college maintains an almost balanced sex ratio with 57% females and 43% males. The other courses include BA in Assamese, Education, and Political Science, each offering 40 seats.
