The Vidya Memorial Institute of Technology (VMIT) was established in 2010. The Institute is approved by AICTE (All India Council For Technical Education, New Delhi) and affiliated to the S.B.T.E. (State Board of Technical Education, Govt. of Jharkhand, Ranchi). The institute offers various courses in multiple fields of programmes. The VMIT courses include 03 years Diploma programme in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering respectively. The VMIT admissions will be based on the performance in past academics and JCECE entrance examination taken by the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB). VMIT Ranchi provides multiple facilities on campus for students and staff. The college also has a placement cell. VMIT placement cell carries out all the activities conducted on campus. The VMIT facilities include separate accommodations for boys and girls, a library, Medical facilities, a cafeteria, Labs, banks/ATMs, sports facilities and many more.

The Vidya Memorial Institute of Technology, Ranchi offers students the chance to get financial aid. VMIT Ranchi VMEEE Exam Scholarship Outcomes and Guidelines

The top 102 students who qualify the examination will be given 100% scholarship in tuition fees for all three years.
All girl students appearing in VMEEE examination will be given 50% scholarship in first year tuition fees.
50% scholarship in first year tuition fees will also be given to the candidates on the following basis:-

(a) Proof from each separate school recommended by the Principal of the School with a copy attached. (Pre-matric result for 10th class students and 11th class result for lateral entry students.

(b) Top three students holding first, second and third ranks of talent search examinations from each school.
