Vijay Rural Engineering College (VREC), established in 1997, is located in Nizamabad, Telangana. It is a private engineering institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad. VREC provides all necessary campus amenities and a variety of facilities to facilitate its academic programmes and develop students’ full potential. The college library has approximately 8000 books and more than 5000 titles related to engineering and management for successful academic practice. Sports facilities are given preference, as the management rightly thinks a healthy mind needs a healthy body. Facilities on the campus include up-to-date IT and communication systems issued to the students. Some of the facilities available include a canteen, a hall for organising personality development programmes as and fully equipped practical laboratories. It also has a health centre that contains first aid equipment, and the college also has an alumni organisation to create links.
The institute provides all types of courses, such as B.Tech in computer science and engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, civil engineering and Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. Also, VREC offers diploma courses in many areas of engineering and management as well as an MBA course. Currently, the college has 12 full-time courses, admitting 60 students to most of its programmes as approved in their charters. The B.Tech courses have intakes varying between 30 and 60, and the MBA and diploma programmes have always had an intake of 60 each.

For undergraduate engineering programmes, the college accepts students through the following entrance examination called Telangana State Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET).
