48 MonthsThe B.Des. (Interior and Space Design) at MIT-WPU is a forward-thinking programme that merges traditional interior design principles with cutting-edge trends in the industry. It focuses on developing versatile interiors and spaces such as living, office, industrial, healthcare, public, institutional, entertainment, exhibition, and retail spaces, workshops, integrating aspects of sustainable design, smart home technology, and environmental psychology. The curriculum balances functional aesthetics with practical considerations such as safety standards and material sustainability, encouraging students to create spaces that respond to the evolving needs and aspirations of users. Students are immersed in hands-on projects that encompass a range of design scenarios, from residential to commercial and public spaces. They gain proficiency in 3D modelling, digital rendering, and material selection, while workshops on emerging technologies like simulations, virtual reality in space design and green building practices enhance their skill set.
The programme fosters independent thinking and innovation through internships, live project collaborations, and both national and international study tours. A research-oriented approach allows students to delve into the socio-cultural and psychological aspects of space design, ensuring their creations are not only aesthetically pleasing but also socially conscious and user-centric. Emphasising entrepreneurship and adaptability, the programme provides strong industry linkages and exposure to real-world design challenges, preparing students for diverse career paths in interior and space design. The B.Des. Interior and Space Design programme at MIT-WPU is tailored for those aspiring to shape the future of interior design with creativity, practical skills, and an understanding of the latest industry trends.
Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Class 10+2/ HSC or its equivalent examination in any stream with English subject (Minimum 45% aggregate marks for candidates belonging to the Reserved Category from Maharashtra State).
Admissions will be based purely on the merit of MIT-WPU CET 2026/ UCEED 2026/ NIFT 2026/ NATA 2026/ NID 2026 score, along with Personal Interaction (PI) and Portfolio Review, as per the prescribed schedule.
A valid score in UCEED/ NATA/ NIFT/ NID may also be considered for the selection process; in such cases, the candidate must additionally appear for the MIT-WPU CET Personal Interaction (PI), Portfolio Review, and Drawing Test as per the schedule
