The online course is provided by the Swayam online education portal initiated by the ministry of education in India.

The online program is scheduled for eight weeks and the course instructors are faculty from IIT Kanpur namely, Prof. Deepu Philip working in the industrial & management engineering department and Prof. Amandeep Singh from the mechanical engineering department. The course study helps the students discuss the innovative ways that lead to green manufacturing systems that provide sustainability. By the end of this undergraduate-level course, the students will gain two credit points and a course completion certificate for which the proctored final exam is mandatory. This ‘Sustainability through Green Manufacturing Systems: An Applied Approach’ training program, a part of the management studies and manufacturing processes and technology is an elective course.
