Hi, Step 1: Fill Online Preference Entry Form

All candidates called for admission need to fill an online preference entry form available on the candidate’s segment of BHU PET portal. In the form, candidates need to fill their preference for the following:

  • Course : This preference option is available only if admission to more than one course is done on the basis of index/rank obtained in PET.
  • Location : This option is available only if the course is offered at more than one location.
  • Seat : Here, candidates need to mention if they are willing to secure admission in the paid seat category if regular fee seats are full. Note: “This preference option is not available for Special Courses of Study and certain other regular/ professional programmes (such as MCA on the main campus),” informs the official website.

Step 2: Attend BHU Counselling Session

Next, candidates need to attend the counselling session at the prescribed venue as per the date and time mentioned on the call letter.

  • On reaching the venue, candidates can change their preference (filled in step 1) if they wish to by contacting the counselling centre/ venue in charge.
  • Once the preference entry form is finalised, candidates need to take its printout, sign it and submit it along with other original documents at the verification desk.
  • Thereafter, the computer will allot seats to candidates in different courses in order of merit.
  • In case a candidate is provisionally admitted to a course, he/she needs to collect the provisional admission letter from the counselling centre/ venue in charge at 10:00 AM on the next day of counselling.
  • The admission letter includes details such as the name of the course in which a candidate is provisionally admitted, amount of admission fee (regular fee), and the deadline for fee payment (typically 4:00 PM of the day following the counselling date).

Candidates can pay BHU admission fee either in the online (through credit/ debit card) or offline (by paying cash at the BHU fee counters) mode.

Step 3: Submit Proof of Payment of Admission Fee

Lastly, candidates need to submit proof of payment of admission fee to the counselling centre/ venue in charge latest by 4:00 PM on the next day of the counselling (deadline for payment of Fee).

  • The admission of candidates failing to submit the proof by the said deadline will be cancelled.
  • However, it may be noted that submission of proof is not required for candidates who have paid the fee in online mode.

Hope this helps.

Hi, it really depends on what they wish to take. There are very high chances of getting an admission in one of the branches in Banaras Hindu University. They might not get the most competitive seat but they are highly likely to get seats in whichever specialization they want. If you still have doubts feel free to comment. Hope this helps.

Hi, it really depends on what specification you wish to choose. There are lot of branches that you will easily get into. But, getting Computer Science Engineering or Information and Technology Engineering might be tough. You will definitely get a seat in BHU. What branch is up for you to decide. If you still have doubts feel free to comment. Hope this helps.

Hello there

If I talk generally so yes you can take economics honours without having maths as a subject in your +2 class.

As there are so many combinations in economics honours so if you wish to take economics mathematics and Statistics combinations then maths is a compulsion there. But I would suggest you that taking nomics as a Honours subject without having maths is not a good idea. Because when you go into your post graduation then the topics like mathematical deviation and some more there will be which will be very difficult for you as you haven't studied mathematics in your intermediate alarm so you haven't taken it in your under graduation.

Afterall nothing is easy and hard all depends upon yourself you can go with other combinations also.

Best of luck!

Thank you!

College Infrastructure

BHU has a very impressive infrastructure with a vast, green campus , well equipped libraries, decent classrooms and hostels. However some older buildings need maintenance and wifi access can be patchy. Overall, it's a solid blend of tradition and modernity.

Bhu overall has been a good choice for my higher studies.
