Hy,

Yes, Banaras Hindu University (BHU) offers both merit-based and paid seats for various programs, including the BALLB (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws) program.

Here’s a brief overview:

  1. Merit-Based Seats : These are allocated based on the results of the BHU UET (Undergraduate Entrance Test) and other admission criteria. Students are admitted based on their performance in the entrance exam and their academic qualifications.

  2. Paid Seats : BHU also has a provision for paid seats, which are typically available in addition to the merit-based seats. These seats may have higher fees compared to the regular seats. Admission to these seats can still be competitive, and students may need to meet specific criteria or guidelines set by the university.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information about seat allocation, fees, and admission criteria for the BALLB program at BHU, it's best to consult the official BHU website or contact the admissions office directly. They can provide detailed information about the number of paid seats, their cost, and the application process.

Hy,

If your rank is 147 and you belong to the SC category, your chances of getting admission are quite good, but it depends on the course and college you're applying to. Each college and course has different admission criteria and cut-off marks.

For specific information, you should contact the admission office of your desired college or check their official website. They will provide details on cut-off marks and the admission process for the SC category.

Securing admission to BHU with a score of 386 in the general category is highly competitive.

While your score is decent, the cut-offs for BHU, especially in popular courses, are generally high. Factors like the specific course you're targeting, the number of applicants, and reservation quotas can influence your chances.

To improve your chances:

  • Research Course Cutoffs: Check previous year's cut-offs for your desired course at BHU to get an idea of the competition.
  • Explore Other Options: Consider other central universities or state universities that might have lower cut-offs.
  • Prepare for Counseling: If you qualify for counseling, be prepared with your preferences and choices.

Remember: Admission to prestigious institutions like BHU is based on merit, and a high score increases your chances significantly.

For a PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) student, getting admission to a B.Sc. in Data Science at BHU (Banaras Hindu University) or DU (Delhi University) might be challenging, as this field typically requires a background in mathematics.

1. Delhi University (DU) :DU generally requires students to have studied Mathematics at the 10+2 level for admission to courses like B.Sc. in Data Science or similar fields like Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics. If you don't have Mathematics as a subject in your 12th standard, you may not meet the eligibility criteria for these courses at DU.

2. Banaras Hindu University (BHU): Similar to DU, BHU usually requires Mathematics as a compulsory subject for courses like B.Sc. in Data Science or related fields. You would need to check the specific program's eligibility criteria, but generally, without a background in Mathematics, it may be difficult to qualify.

Eligibility for central universities like BHU, Delhi University, and Allahabad University generally requires that you have completed your schooling from a recognized board. Open schooling or non-traditional education systems can sometimes be accepted, but specific eligibility criteria may vary by institution.

Here’s what you should check:

  2. Eligibility Criteria : Review the eligibility criteria for each university. Some may have specific requirements for open schooling students.

  3. Contact the University : For precise information, contact the admissions offices of BHU, Delhi University, and Allahabad University to confirm your eligibility based on your open schooling background.

College Infrastructure

BHU has a very impressive infrastructure with a vast, green campus , well equipped libraries, decent classrooms and hostels. However some older buildings need maintenance and wifi access can be patchy. Overall, it's a solid blend of tradition and modernity.

Bhu overall has been a good choice for my higher studies.
