CAT 2025 answer key has been released on December 4, 2025.
The last date to apply for NEET-PG 2025 counselling is December 9, 2025.
BHU secured 10th position overall and 15th position in the dental category in NIRF 2025 ranking.
BHU has various auditoriums and seminar complexes dedicated to different departments and institutes with great seating capacity. Classrooms have LCD Projectors and each department has it's own library. BHU has a huge Central Library and an e-library as well. Various sports centers are available including cricket, football, basketball, tennis, badminton. There are many hostels, different for each institute and have a personal ground. The 1300 acre campus is very clean and well-maintained.
BHU has been ranked 3rd by NIRF. This reason is enough to be a student here. I'm pursuing B.Sc in Biology. The faculty is quite encouraging, well-founded, and the professors are great mentors. The lab work is very engaging and the labs are well equipped. The curriculum is up to date and the professors are knowledgeable about the recent developments in their field. The faculty is quite accommodating in terms of the transition from school to university.
Although I have not been exposed to the placement aspect of college life as my course does not make me qualified for jobs in my field, the other departments and higher courses seem to have some good placements.
My course cost me around 5000 per year which has also been greatly reduced owing to the pandemic. While the quality of education is worth the money before, even now many teachers have adapted very well to online teaching and have devised newer and more involving teaching techniques. But in all, the quality has gone down especially concerning the lab work as students aren't exposed to it as of now.
BHU has a lush green, huge and incredible campus which is also a tourist attraction. There are small shops and eateries all around the campus. It is open for all as it has the Vishwanath Temple. Students are free to move around. The teachers, staff, and students all are very understanding and helpful. Being a tourist attraction it is always crowded but is safe and can handle medical emergencies as has a medical college and hospital where students and staff get preference in case of requirement.
Apart from a great campus and hostel life, various departments attract scholars from all over India. Many departments have state-of-the-art facilities especially those that are leading in research. BHU Campus life is very encouraging in terms of fests and cultural celebrations. There are facilities for learning different foreign languages and sports and other art forms as well. There are a plethora of activities to engage in. I consider myself fortunate to have experienced this campus life.
Yes the atmosphere in BHU is quite amiable and it never fails to awe you. It has an amazing and huge central and cyber library. Berry faculty has their own personal library and each department owns one mini library. So, you will never feel dearth of book here.
The faculties are really amazing they have an in depth knowledge of the subject and the opportunities in BHU are quite decent. Teachers are quite friendly and enthusiastic about their subjects, they will make you fall for it.
In BA and MA we don't have placements, that is the only negative thing about this place. Sometimes we get opportunities outside the city, but due to the Strict curriculum of BHU you will have to attend every day classes and maintain the attendance at 75%.
We minimal, it is highly highly affordable.
BHU campus itself is full of life and vigour it fills our heart with desire and enthusiasm.
I love this 'Mahamana ki bagiya'. It has given me everything what I was looking for.
It has all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. Like well equipped gym, playgrounds, libraries, sport complex , hostels wifi, living space cleanliness, hygiene everything at par and best.
I have completed my MBA from Banaras Hindu University prior to this I have also completed my Under Graduate, in Economics from BHU itself. The syllabus , curriculum all are updated and they do update time to time to compete with other universities not in our country on international level also.
Almost all who enrolled in professional course got good placement . The average salary offered is in between 5lakhs to 15 lakhs some use to get even more than that like in crores but those are exceptions.
Amazing.
The classrooms are clean and air conditioned with a clean, visible white board. There are almost all types of books in the central library. Also the library is the best place to prepare your study due to the peaceful and concentrative atmosphere.Labs are full of working computers with strong WIFI connection.I can't say anything about the hostels cause I am not a hosteller. The food in the canteen are hygenic and affordable.
I am doing M.sc in Mathematics and Computing. This subject will give me a scope to do a further study in either Mathematics or Computer Science. The syllabus of this subject is very interesting. Also the teacher are so much student friendly. You can ask them anytime about your doubts. But I personally think there need some improvements in practical classes. Teachers should be more perfective about teaching the computer pprogramming.
In this situation of pandemic, placements are uncertain.Though some famous companies like TCS have shown interest in us.They offered a good salary package-6 to 8 lakhs per annum.Students' availability and ability will define whether you qualified or not.
Since my course is a special one,i had to pay a huge amount inspite of getting a regular seat.I had to pay 32006 per year.Though our classroom is air conditioned and the labs are in good position,I think it is really a huge cost.
The beauty of my college campus is indescribable.I have not seen such eye soothing scenery in my life. There are trees all over the campus. It is also safe at night time. You can walk for a time after taking your dinner.
I have so much great experiences in two years. Basically i am not a fond of crowded places. But Varanasi will live in my heart rent free.
The BHU campus is very beautiful, full fo green. There are University buses that run free for everyone to commute to different places in the campus. Each department has a departmental library, besides the Central Library of BHU with latest books and journals. Wifi is available all through the campus. Girls Hostels are clean and the food is hygienic with minimal charges.
The department of psychology is pretty well equipped and the course of study is updates as per latest developments in the field. The professors are always available for any kind of assistance. Classes are regular. Overall it creates a good environment of knowledge sharing.
The department of psychology doesn't provide any placement option after masters. Though there is placement opportunity particularly in the course of MPMIR. some other departments like economics, MBA and commerce faculty have placement opportunities.
For MA psychology the tuition fees is around Rs.9000 for 2years. Fees are taken in every semester. Apart from this hostel charges are there: room charges around 3.5k for a year, excluding mess charges which is ₹30-60 per diet. The fee structure is very minimum and convenient for everyone.
The campus is full of green, along with playgrounds in front of every hostel. It's beautiful in every season. There are little juice shops, stationary shops at almost every crossroad. Inside the campus there is a Shiva temple, VT that's basically the hangout centre of students. Autos are easily available in the campus.
Overall the experience of studying in Banaras Hindu University has been great. Campus Life was full of fun with friends and colleagues. I would definitely recommend this place for a student's holistic growth.
The college infrastructure is really huge and well equiped, one thing is there that during exams you won't be able to find seats to study in the library, it becomes literally overcrowded. So I believe, library space expansion is an urgent need provided BHU caters to a huge strength of students.
The BHU curriculum is thoroughly updated and has a direct implication in competitive exams. Professors are of very enriched background and have a wide arena of experinces. Also, you'll find classmates from different parts of India and a few foreign nationals too, so yeah, that helps to make connections and learn more.
It depends, as I was from a humanities background then you don't have many options for placements, even if you'll find any it'll be not as good as other disciplines. Apart from that, on your own, you can approach many organizations and you'll be welcomed considering your background achievements and current knowledge base.
BHU is a public-funded university so it is very much financially accessible. In case, you are not able to meet those expenses, then there are many ways you can get a fee waiver.
I really have enjoyed my campus life. It was bliss. Although you may not find pubs and much fun nightlife there, what you'' get there, you will never ever find anywhere else. Ask yourself, why Kashi is being the oldest city, why foreigners find refuge in Kashi, why do the alumni of BHU always want to return to Varanasi!? There is a saying, you might leave Varanasi, but Varanasi doesn't leave you. And wherever I say Varanasi, BHU is implied.
A college/university has its reputation from its alumni, go check the list of alumni, and the overall rating is right there. I am just a budding plant, a part of this gargantuan tree, we call it BHU. ?
Banaras Hindu University is the top 10 university in NIRF ranking 2020, BHU has state of the art infrastructure with its heritage of 100 plus years in the field of Art, Science, Commerce, Management, and Technology ( IIT-BHU ). It has separate laboratories, libraries, sports fields, hostels with wifi for each and every department. BHU is equipped with Fiber Optics for seamless internet for the Students. BHU has a university student hospital with free medical facilities and medicines.
I am currently pursuing MPMIR, master in personnel management and industrial relations which is a professional course run by the University under the faculty of Social Sciences, dept. of Psychology. Teaching sytle of distinctive Professor and this course is at par with the Tiss - MA (Hrm & LR) course. It is equivalent to MBA (HRM & IR). I think the course curriculum should be updated in line with XLRI -HR syllabus and TISS MA-HRM & LR every year.
Past track record of MPMIR course was phenomenal as PSU as well as corporate come for direct placement. But, the recent trend of PSU is taking students from the open market with NET-JRF for Hr-executive posts while numbers of corporate companies are limited nowadays. The salary package was decent. Students opt for open markets like Linkedin, Naukri.com, monster.com, etc, and they excel with flying colors.
MPMIR course is a value for money course with the ROI i.e. return on investment at par with Tiss MA - HRM & LR course. The fee of MPMIR is nominal Rs.60,000. i,e Total course fee of Rs1,20,000 + alumni membership fee 2,400. which is one time. Hostel fees Rs.1800. (including university fee). The Mess fee is Rs.50/diet.
The campus life of BHU is full of hustle and bustle with co-curricular activities going on around the year which includes faculty cultural festivals and competitions and intra and inter-faculty sports competitions, quiz and whatnot. Campus have NCC and NSS as well as mountaineering insititute.
BHU is the dream university for any student.
World class infrastructure. The facilities available in BHU is Wi Fi, Library, Stadium, Parks, Canteen etc. The University offers courses in multiple disciplines of Management, Technology, Humanities, Science, Medicines etc.
Highly educated and experienced Faculties. Course curriculum is updated and include all the recent research, developments in the field. Well furnished Classrooms, high-tech labs and largest Central library.
Most of the students from Professional courses get placed. It provides a very good opportunity for the students. Almost everyone of the professional courses get internship offers. The top companies visit the campus every year for the recruitments.
This is one of the best thing about the University/college. It has the one of the best ROI. Most of the students from professional courses get good job offers with decent packages. Fee structure is very less.
Campus life is great.
At any point of time I can recommend this University to everyone.
Although all students don't get hostel but those who get really enjoy facilities there. Management provide free Wi-fi throughout the hostel with daily limit of 4 Gb which is enough for a student. I have experienced 28 Mbps speed. Diet chart of hostel is much scientific which is prepared by keeping the health of students in mind. Greenery, medical facility, sports club etc. all are present here ! Wonderful experience.
I am studying B.Sc. here. Quality of teachers is beyond expressing in words.. they are full of experience and knowledge, it depend on you how much you can gain. i think syllabus can be modified a bit. Ya studying here make you job-ready !
History of placement is good at this place. I would like to rate quality of placement 4.5 out of 5 ! On an average 65% students got placement in recent years. As per my knowledge 10 Lakh was the highest package in recent years. placement process is full of competition here and yes college help students a lot !
This university is supported by government. So, fee is very less as compare to other private colleges/universities. By observing quality of education and infrastructure there is no doubt in saying that Yes, I am getting my money worthy.
Overall campus life is pleasant. Students can take part in any activity according to there interest. Like engaging in cultural programme, drama, sports, singing etc. Teacher and support staff is very kind and of helping spirit. This is situated in Varanasi and i can say that this place is safe and can handle any type of emergency whether it is medical emergency or anything else.
BHU is one of the greenest campus in the world, it is situated in a huge area of more than 1300 acres. The Campus has an excellent infrastructure and other facilities like clean Hostel, book rich library and wifi. Faculties are also excellent here. The Milleu of eductaion is also best
In some departments it is best ,in other it is very good and satisfactory. Not all Courses are eually at their best ,the faculty of sciences and agriculture are the best and they are recognised as top cources of university.
All courses do not guarantee placement. In some courses you get an placement with handsome sallery whereas some courses do not have any scope like this. You can easily get placement in departsments like MSW , MBA, and other .
It os very nominal and affordable. As being a central goverment university it charges a very nominal fee from students for tuition fee and hostel. You will feel that you have done a good bargain by paying fee to this institute.
One could feel better than at home, so much supportive teachers and other non teaching staffs. Awesome and beautiful campus surrounding with lush green sceneries, big and broad roads and playgrounds and fields.

Hello, for a 3 year LLB Degree at Banaras Hindu University, the fee is very nominal. The annual tuition fee is around Rupees 600, while total semester wise charges, including other minor fees range from rupees 1500 to 2300 per semester. This makes BHU one of the most affordable options for pursuing an LLB, compared to other private law colleges. Additional costs for hostel and mess are separate, but the overall academic expense is quite low. Hope this helps!
Hello,
For a BCom (Hons) at Delhi University (DU), you must take one language from List A and a combination of three subjects from List B, with specific combinations like Language + Mathematics + any two from List B or Language + Accountancy + any two from List B being most common. For the Banaras Hindu University (BHU), the subject combination for BCom (Hons) involves taking one language and three domain subjects related to commerce in the CUET exam.
I hope it will clear your query!!
