Hi Sarbajit,

IISER don't declare cut off, they declare if student is selected or not. So, we can't predict whether you will get selected or not. But some IISER select 70/180 marks, there is chance to get into IISER. Hope best for your future.

IISER never reveals the marks for the entrance test that it conducts. It only shows if you're qualified or not, so you actually cannot know if you're qualified or not unless and until the results are out. You can only have hopes, because there is actually no cut-off available for IISER.

Hello Adrija,

The aptitude exam (IAT) conducted by IISER to get admission there , is of 180 marks. According to previous year analysis, 105/180 (approx.) Was the cut off.

So if you score 115+ , then you have fair chances to get a seat in any branches of IISERs.

All the best for your future.

Dear Reader as you have not mentioned the exam where you scored 138 marks. there are three ways to get into IISER which are KVPY,JEE & SCB.

So until you provide me complete details like your mode of joining i can only provide you this link. kindly go through this and contact me through comment box incase of any more query.

Hello ,

Thanks for connecting to careers360.com .

IISER never releases cutoff for IAT so it is very difficult for anyone to answer this question as the cutoffs could change drastically. They only tell you whether you are selected or not. Even though, 98/180 is a good score and most probably you'll be able to get admitted into any IISER of your choice. Most people predict that the cutoff is usually around 105(subject to change) for Pune and Kolkata.

Hope it helps.

Hello Debarghya,

Thanks for connecting to careers360.com .

The total marks of the aptitude exam conducted by IISER is 180. Some say, that 105/180 is the cut off marks for getting admission in all branches of IISER.

So you have less chance to get any seats there.

Best wishes....

dear aspirant ,

well the chances are low as u have scored only 57 marks. but as u are from sc category u may have a little chance. so hope for the best and wait till the last round of allotment.well i too wrote IAT2019 and i will also get like 59 marks and i belong to general. still not loosing hope . all the best for  the allotments

Hello Siddharth,

Since IISER does not declare their cutoffs, it is difficult to tell whether or not you get admission they just tell whether or not you were selected. However according to past students personal experiences cutoff of about 110/180 marks is generally required to get into any IISER. It is unlikely you will get selected. However, this is just an assumption.

Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you have any more queries. Best of luck!

Hello Cyril,

Since the actual cutoffs are never declared by the IISERs', you can never know if you will get selected or not on the basis of marks, IISER just tells you if you're selected or not. However, according to other candidates personal experiences. For general category student, marks about 110/180 will be excellent to get into any IISER.

Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you have any more queries. Best of luck!

Hello Sonu,
I would like to inform you that there are three channels through which you can get admission in IISER. These are KVPY, JEE Advanced and SCB. So, there is no channel for admission through JEE Mains. Hence, you must qualify JEE Advanced with good marks or else you can try through SCB ( State and Central Boards). For more details regarding eligibility and cutoff, please visit the official site:

All the best!
