Hey there
ISI exam one of the toughest exam of india. Since it is concentrated to maths in b.stat so the difficulty level is of jee advanced level or more. The MCQ is not that tough but the subjective questions are really tough and since there is step wise marking you'll have to write the whole solution step wise which takes time. But if you are preparing for jee advanced then you'll definitely have chances for isi.
Good luck

Hi,
ISI entrances test your basic mathematical and problem solving ability. You need to give special focus to Calculus, Geometry, Inequalities, Number theory etc. Some books by standard foreign authors will aid you in preparation for these topics. The authors include IA Maron, David Burton, Arthur Engel etc. For interview, they generally ask you to solve few tricky mathematics questions itself. Just be confident and answer without fear.
All the best.
