A Bachelor degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian or foreign university (as per the AIU foreign equivalence list) having secured a minimum of 50% aggregate in case of General and OBC categories and 45% in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories are eligible to apply.

The department has basic but functional infrastructure for postgraduate studies. Classrooms are suitable for discussions and seminars. The central library is useful for reference books, journals, and newspapers related to political studies. Reading rooms help in exam and research preparation. Hostels are average but livable. The large and green campus gives a quiet environment, which supports serious study and academic work.
In igntu green campus, strong theory, self effort required.

IGNTU campus is big, peaceful, and green. Classrooms are decent for post-grad work. Library has more books and journals useful for MA students. Hostels and facilities are basic but okay. Overall good study environment, not very modern.
