Dr. Hari Singh Gour College (DHSGSU) has a large, green campus with Wi-Fi, spacious classrooms, and a well-stocked digital library. Key infrastructure includes high-tech labs in many departments, a visitor hostel, and on-campus sports facilities with separate gyms. While the overall infrastructure is considered good and well-maintained, there are calls for improvement in some older departmental facilities and the on-campus medical facilities. The campus also boasts essential services like a bank, post office, and coffee house.
Dr. Hari Singh Gour University (DHSGSU) is a reputable central university with a strong academic reputation, particularly in fields like forensic science, geology, and law. While faculty are often described as qualified and supportive, with diverse teaching methods and good student-faculty ratios, some reviews mention a lack of faculty helpfulness in certain departments. The university boasts a positive learning environment, a well-regarded library, and offers various scholarships and financial aid. However, some students have noted issues with outdated departmental infrastructure and potential improvements needed in hostel facilities.
Dr. Hari Singh Gour College placements vary by department, with some reporting low placement rates (1-2%) and others seeing higher numbers, though overall rates are often low (around 30% in some areas). Notable recruiters like Tech Mahindra and Capgemini have visited, offering roles including assistant manager and sales executive. Packages are generally modest, with highest packages around 4.5 LPA and median salaries for some courses around 3.53 LPA. Many students also opt for higher studies or secure off-campus placements.

My course i.e ballb (hons) cost around 20000/year which is very affordable compared to other central university. The money is worth of as quality education is delivered to us ,classes are held regularly with Innovative teaching methods like group discussion , debates, power points etc.
Dr hari singh gour university is a hill campus surrounded by forest and it looks very beautiful and serene especially during rain .The best feature of this university is it location , environment ,staff . The only worst feature is transportation you cannot get direct train from sagar to your home town in general. The students seniors are very supportive and they treat you like your brother and sister and teacher and support staff is very friendly and are of helping nature .They help students in solving problems.yes it is safe .
The Hari singh gour university has cultural council ,theatre society, writing club, moot court society, sports council ,book reading club and it also has no of auditorium such as golden jubilee , abhimanch.
Dr Harisingh Gour college has a very beautiful Infrastructure as a student perspective because it is fully surrounded by hills and greenery which helps in peacefull Education for a student, I really Enjoy it as being a student in This College.
Academics Are good because Faculties are good in behaviour and in fact they connect with Students very Elegantly that makes the Faculties to be loved one. It is a Central University Affiliated so it has many Benefits too as compared to any state university.
Placements are Decent with an average placement of 5 LPA and a Highest Placement with 9.5LPA for PG COURSE and i know only this because I study in MCA department For Masters degree i would consider it a decent college.
Value for money can be said because its a low fees college and for many post graduation it's a 10000rs per year fees only.
Campus life is enjoyable and has a peaceful nature all around. There are regular seminars, workshops, and cultural programs.Student unions are active, and there’s a strong sense of community among students.
The quality of hostles is good and the mess is average , the campus is built very huge with lots of greenery around, but wash room qualities are not upto the mark. No CCTVs are there in campus that puts life of students in jeopardy.
College curriculum is good, teachers are knowledgeable and cooperative and helpful. Exams are easy to pass , a strict dress code is followed among all the departments. Professors are not always available.
College provides very low placements for minimum students and close to no internships are provided. Close to No companies come for hiring freshers in this college and teachers don't support either for placement.
With less than 20000 fees for a year for most of the programs, I think it is a good ROI.

College provided deeply knowledge for your syllabus and other teacher has IItians. And they are provided not bookish knowledge but they provided career oriented programs for getting the placement with reliable package.
Placement is normal like 2 lacs to 3 lacs not more than that the student less than half take placement rest of doing masters or left one doing masters or small diploma course. The placement cel not taking improvement.
Yes the college is best degree purpose.
In my bachelor time life was normal.
Nothing
Infrastructure is awesome. However it needs some changes somewhere. But overall it's all good. The new classrooms and new hostels are designed very well. Hostel rooms were a bit small but adequate. Dual rooms in the first year were more entertaining to be honest. Food Is not bad. Sometimes it's average.
Knowledge and research topics were very impressive. The Ratio was adequate. All courses were up to date and progressed with newer research. My department was research-oriented. So many students went aboard from their research work and training purpose.
The highest salary package is above 2 lpa. The minimum percentage require is above 85 for both arts and science students. The placement opportunity is quite good and arts and science students get equal level of opportunities.
Yes college is value for money.
Campus Life is best life forever.
Nothing
Being an open campus the infrastructure is really great, campus and it's classroom, their is a separate self-study hall for students and every dept. Have a departmental library and then a central Library for all Everything about infrastructure is really great.. But their are some issues relating water supply and cleanliness.
Professors are highly educated and experienced. They are very supportive and due to their friendly nature with students it's easy to discuss about any doubt and problems arising about any issue they are very supportive.
As their students are very talented . Their dedication and hardwork led them to qualify the competative exams and and some of get placed in the companies as the legal advisor while many of students are in judicial services.
My course fees is ₹15000 in total. That's really great.
