Research Central University

Batch of 2020 | B.Tech Civil Engineering
I am a civil engineer student .The most amazing thing about the faculty is its library where we can find the finest journals ,research papers, manuscripts and many more things. Its accommodation given to the students is amazing and quite comfortable. Not only that the campus is quite friendly too.Encouragement to the researching is given in the university. There is a research centre within the university and its name is AJK Mass communication Research centre. Therefore making too research central university in Delhi.Hence According to my opinion this university is good for those who are interested more in research than in studies as it is one of the best university in New Delhi.

The college is very good. Although civil department sucks. All those files and assignments, its wastage of time. The placements mark. You will end up doing the useless assignment. infrastructure is just good. and only another good thing is that its fee is very low.

Think before going to Jamia Milia Islamia

Batch of 2018 | B.Tech Civil Engineering
As I am a current student of Jamia Milia Islamia i am going anonymous. INFRASTRUCTURE-B.Tech campus is very small and old. Sports Complex is good but for a whole university it is very small and timings are also very bad. For indoor games timing is 10am-4pm and any b.tech student who don't want to get year back doesn't go there. PLACEMENT- 2-5 students out of 70 gets placed in civil engineering. In fact students from other branches mocks us(civil engineering students) by saying that we can't talk about placements. Hence, a lot of civil engineering students starts preparing for competitive exams. FACULTY IS VERY IRRITATING, some teachers even write 2+2=4 from notes. Teachers don't talk about anything except that is written in their notes. They come, take attendance, talk to themselves and then go. In the 2nd year only one teacher is good(he is really good) but others are really very very irritating. Same case of the 3&4 year. COLLEGE LIFE SUCKS and all we here do is, attend the classes from 9:00 am to 5-30pm except one day(other branches have decent timing). HOSTEL-You will be lucky if you get hostel and if not either you will have to live in areas like Batla House, Abul Fazal, Zakir Nagar (Veg food is not good in these places and it is very very difficult for a vegetarian to live here and you can enquire about these places and I'm sure after doing that no vegetarian will try to live in these places), another option is Julena (even a small single room costs Rs.5000-7000 per month +food expenses and area is not good as per the rents, only good thing is Community Center) or you can up down daily from your home. After staying for 6 months in Julena, I m now coming from home(around 60 km from Delhi and it takes min 1.5 hr to reach the college by train, min 3 hours one will have to spend on travelling every day and even if you are from Delhi traffic will waste your lot of time). A friend of mine(from the same city as of mine) has been allotted a hostel room but he still comes from his home as he didn't like the mess veg food. Those students didn't get hostel either live in nearby places(not good places as I have told earlier) or up down from home which wastes a lot of time and exhaust you even if you are from Delhi. ACTIVITIES- There are no fests. Only MIRAAS in 2016 and I don't want my time on writing about MIRZAS. FESTIVALS- I really enjoyed celebrating the festival with my friends as we all do in schools but this is not the case here. There are no Diwali celebrations not even wishes, no fun on Holi and I hope you will understand why. Any Jamia student will tell you the same thing if you press them about reality because some students will not present you with these facts, those who don't want to, as Jamia is a minority university (if you can understand what I want to say) or one who don't want to disparage their own college or one who get admission in Jamia using minority quota. ONLY LOW FEES IS GOOD ABOUT JAMIA MILIA ISLAMIA. Conclusion- Only come to Jamia if don't get admission in other good govt colleges or good private colleges or if your family has financial issues. If you not a dropper then try one more time for another college if you think you can. Some take Jamia as a central university a plus point but being a central university will not give you anything. When Jamia students even can't get campus placements, then how can they get off campus placement with Jamia degree and also without knowledge. And I am again saying teachers are really bad in Jamia.

Being a student, its a privilege to be part of India's one of the best university. Teachers are very cooperative and try to provide in-depth knowledge to their students. Placements are also very good as many companies come here and almost all students get placed with decent packages.

College is good for education and hygiene as well. The environment is very pleasant. Being a central university, it is a reputed institute in capital New Delhi. The sports complex is amazing. What lacks is the placement which is not that much as compared to other NITs and DTU.
