Hi,
Thanks for asking careers360,
There are around 150 seats in JIPMER overall. Out of that 40 seats are allotted to Pondicherry. Also, the competition for it in Pondicherry is not very good compared to national level. This is confirmed by the fact that the toppers in Pondicherry scoreless compared to the last ranked in national level.
Also, JIPMER has no negative marking, which isn't a good sign. The probability of your fluke going right is 25% without a loss. But the quality of education and experience you get in JIPMER is really awesome.
Adding to the point which others stated,
Read TN Board Biology Books-I have heard from my friends that few questions directly from School books.
Also, Jipmer is an exam about speed and accuracy. You need to solve 200 Questions in 150 minutes.
All Basic Stuff will be asked. Not much in-depth understanding is required to crack them.
JIPMER preparation:
The exam would be conducted in English and would contain 200 Multiple Choice Questions. The exam would be conducted in a Computer Based Mode.
There would be no negative marking in the exam. One mark would be awarded to every correct response. There could be 60 questions each from Physics, Chemistry, Biology. 20 questions would be based on Logic and Quantitative Reasoning, English, and comprehension.
NCERT books would be a great source of preparation. Practice with previous year question papers that would help you to have an insight as to how to improve and progress in your direction.
Understand the crux of any concept that you study and try to solve questions.
Prepare snippets or notes in the form of a quick reference guide to help you revise just before the exam.
I cannot suggest you the specific college you read here for the same.
