24 Months- Master of Law (LLM) is a full-time two years duration postgraduate Law faculty programme course and it is offered by the University of North Bengal, Siliguri.
- This course is designed in such a way that it fulfills the need and demand of the present day society in general and young lawyers in particular. The 2Year LL.M. Course is divided into Four semesters. After completion of each semester, there is an examination conducted by the University. Nature as desired by the Bar Council of India, which is the regulatory body of legal education in India. Besides the conventional subjects, some very contemporary subjects are also included in this curriculum, such as Environmental Law, Intellectual Property Law including Information Technology Act, Human Rights, Law and Medicine, and Insurance Law.
Eligibility Criteria
- A candidate shall be eligible for admission if he/she has passed the Bachelor of Law [LL.B. 3 year, B.A. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, B.B.A. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, B.Com. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, or B.A. LL.B (Hons.) 5 year integrated course] Examination of the University of North Bengal or any other University with not less than 50% marks and whose degree has been recognized by this university as equivalent. SC, ST and PWD candidates shall be provided with the relaxation of 5% marks for admission.
- Candidates passed in Bachelor of Law [LL.B (3 years), B.A. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, B.B.A. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, B.Com. LL.B. 5 year integrated course, or B.A. LL.B (Hons.) 5 year integrated course] Examination of the University of North Bengal or any other University, three years prior to current academic session shall not be eligible to seek admission into LL.M. course (e.g., candidate passing qualifying examination in 2015 or before shall not be eligible for admission in LL.M. course.
