Utkal University, Bhubaneswar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

Utkal University has 6 boys hostels located within campus premises. All the hostels have common rooms, wi-fi, a library with newspapers & periodicals etc. Hostelers are served food at the mess. The boys’ hostels of the varsity are managed by wardens.

The university provides separate accommodation facilities to girls students. The campus has 7 dedicated hostels for girls students. Utkal University hostel facilities consist of common rooms, wi-fi, library, mess etc. Wardens are responsible for the management of the girls’ hostels.

A well-maintained health centre is there at the campus. Basic first aid facilities are provided to students, faculty members and staff members at the health centre of Utkal University.

There are two modern gyms available at the varsity campus. The gyms have the latest equipment for weight training, cardio, calisthenics etc.

The central library i.e. Parija Library of the university was established in 1946. It is named after the first Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Pranakrushna Parija. Parijia Library is well stocked with books, journals, magazines and various other reading materials.

The varsity has a sports council established in 1943 to look after the sports activities. Utkal University Bhubaneswar sports facilities include a playground for both indoor and outdoor sports. The sports team of the university participates in various inter-university sports tournaments every year.

The computer centre of the university was established in 1971. The computer centre has modern computers with the latest operating systems, software and hardware for students.

The university canteen offers a wide variety of foods and beverages to students and faculty members. The food and beverages served are affordable and hygienic.

To host seminars, workshops and other academic and cultural activities, the university has a modern auditorium located at the campus.

The college has a good networking for alumni association.

All the departments of the university have internet connectivity. Furthermore, some departments have wi-fi connectivity also.

The guest house of the university has well-furnished rooms and also provides catering services to guests. All the visiting guests are accommodated in the guest house of the university.

The university has two branches of State Bank of India and one branch of Syndicate Bank. Furthermore, 4 ATMs, one of State Bank of India, one of ICICI Bank and two of Syndicate Bank are also available for students and faculty members.

The university has a bookshop and post office on campus. Apart from this, a newspaper & magazine shop is also available for students.

Utkal University provides transportation facilities to both students and faculty members. The university buses cover various major attractions nearby the university campus and also provide to and fro transportation services to nearby railway stations and bus stops.

Utkal University science departments have modern laboratories for students. The labs have all the equipment required by students. The laboratories allow students to conduct experiments and practicals.
