One of the major education institutes in Amravati is Adarsha Science Jairamdas Bhagchand Arts and Birla Commerce Mahavidyalaya, which was started in 1961 by Dhamangaon Education Society. This Amravati-based co-educational college in Maharashtra has an affiliation to Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University. ASJBABCM provides undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses in Science, Commerce, Computer Applications, and Arts and Humanities. The college is NAAC-accredited, has a 3.17-acre campus, 1,696 students, and a faculty of 34 members, hence maintains a good student-teacher ratio.

The postgraduate programs include M.Sc in Mathematics, Microbiology and Electronics, and MA in Economics, M.Com, MCM. The college has also affiliation with doctoral programs in Microbiology, Electronics, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, and Commerce. The total number of students intake for all programs is 1,542, where a large number of students opt for undergraduate programs (77%) and the minority students in the postgraduate programs (23%). 

Basically, admission to ASJBABCM is merit-based with different programs having specific criteria. Admission to undergraduate courses is generally on the basis of the candidate's performance in his/her 12th standard examinations. The candidate seeking admission to postgraduate courses may be required to have a relevant bachelor's degree with minimum marks as specified by the university. The college also considers entrance scores required to be eligible for admissions into some of the courses.
