The Alpine Institute of Management and Technology, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, was established in the year 2010. It is one of the leading institutes for education in this Uttarakhand Valley. Having a sprawling campus of 24 acres, AIMT is an affiliated college under the approval of AICTE. The institute offers a wide range of courses—22 in number—under 7 different degree programs catering to different fields of study. The institution has a total student enrollment of 383, with faculty strength of 48; hence, it provides a very conducive student-teacher ratio. 

AIMT is fully equipped with modern facilities, which cater to enhancing the learning process for its students. It includes fully air-conditioned, well-furnished classrooms with smart class technology and audio-visual aids to make the teaching-learning process interactive. The institute library acts as the focal point of all academic and research activities. There are over 25000 books on various subjects and a seating capacity of more than 2000 members. At the same time, it has international standard, state-of-the-art laboratories supporting hands-on experience of the students with sophisticated equipment across different streams.

There are a total of 22 different courses the Institute offers, among which some both full-time undergraduate and postgraduate programs are also available. These will include many streams such as Hotel Management, Computer Applications, Business Administration, Commerce, Agriculture, Biotechnology, Forestry, Information Technology, and the various branches of Science. 

The Admission Procedure in AIMT is laid down in such a manner so that it becomes accessible to all, purely based on Merit. In most of the courses, the student either on the basis of their academic merit and direct entry or by appearing for the entrance examination conducted by the institute seeks admission, popularly known as AGI CET.
