Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College was founded in the year of 1996 and is one of the premier institution situated at Moodbidri of Karnataka. This affiliated college provided CCIM recognised educational facility and it provides various degrees in Ayurveda. Located on a thirty-five square kilometer piece of land, the college has admitted a total of 727 students, 26 of faculty. There are 4 degrees offered by the Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College; there is BAMS offered in Ayurveda, in addition to 19 courses in MD and MS specialisations in Ayurveda. It is also recognised for ambitions to forward and protect the science that has been practiced for thousands of years in India, the Ayurveda with synergy to the contemporary medical knowledge.

Alvas Ayurveda Medical College, Moodbidri is affiliated to the college Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. The college offers highly effective educational services with the usage of the modern equipment. It has compiled a collection of over 15,000 Ayurveda and modern medicine books, plus current journals, backed by broadband connection and 100 computers. Departments are provided with appropriate laboratories for students to gain practical knowledge for each department. A health care facility includes first aid known to meet student needs for their health; this is located in the campus area. For all round development there is a provision for sports and gym facilities in the college. The institution also has male and female hostel facilities to enhance accommodation for those students from the different regions of the country.

The courses offered by Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College total 19 courses and all are full time. The major is the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) and the College has sanctioned strength of hundred students’ intake. Besides, there are postgraduate course offered in the college like MD, MS in various specialisation of Ayurved branch which normally have 5 seat intake.

Admission procedure of Alva’s Ayurveda Medical College is merit based and follows norms of government/University and PCI. For the BAMS programme, admission is open only through NEET, or the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, scores. The post graduate admission of the candidates for admissions in MD and  MS courses are done through All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test (AIAPGET). This season, it follows the admission schedule provided by the national level exams.
