Top private university of india

Batch of 2021 | B.Tech Mechanical Engineering
This is the best college I had ever seen . firstly the most of teachers here have doctorates and are well experienced. the campus is very small compared to amritapuri campus and Coimbatore campus . the campus size is 45 acres. the are almost exams every 2 weeks so this not the correct place for enjoying . this university also has link with many reputed foreign universities e.g. university at buffalo which is in new York. so if your performance is good at end of 3rd year you may end up completing your degree in one of the foreign universities. the food in mess is good for health . the placements happen in Coimbatore campus for all campuses. the placements record is 95%.

College has a serene infrastructure, with nice lawns. Canteens can be made better with better food. Students are well-mannered and behaved. The college as a whole is very disciplined. More events/parties can be organised. I am a day scholar, so no idea about hostels. I got a job at Genpact. We have plety of lecturers who teach brilliantly.

There are good lab facilities and very great teachers. Moral values are followed. Though strict, students have their own space and freedom. College encourages cocurricular activities also. Placement policies are good for B.Tech students. Hostel facilities and food are also good.

I wouldn't say my life in Amrita has been a bed of roses. I have good and bad memories. The good ones have helped me survive in this college and motivated me to work hard. The bad ones have become lessons for life. The teachers have been the pillars. They don't just direct us but walk an extra mile with us. Workshops & seminars organized by our college has provided the much needed industrial exposure. The college provides opportunities for foreign exchange program, research activities etc. This has been motivating the scholars to think extraordinarily. Cultural events keep the spirits alive, brings out talents of not only those who participate but also those who organize, by inculcating team spirit and leadership qualities. The hostel is the place where we have learnt to adjust and accept. At the end of 4 years, all that matters is getting a well-paid job. Our college ensures that to a dedicated and hard working student.

Amrita University is a deemed university located in Kasavanahalli, off Sarjapur road, Bangalore. The university campus encloses the main building called the academic block, B block, C block, an 8-floor building for MBA, girls hostel, and a 10-floor boys hostel. The hostel rules are very strict and the food is not up to the mark. Placements: TCS and Infosys were the mass recruiters that offered placements to more than 130 students from our batch. However, core companies such as Caterpillar, Hyundai, Ford, Microsoft, Tally, Instruments Limited too offered placements to selected few lucky ones. If you are someone passionate about engineering and can keep your performance in check from semester one then this college is highly recommended for you.

Can anyone describe about hostle rooms in amrita vishwa vidyapeetham [Amritapuri campus]? Better if you can provide some photos!!

Faith Slacer P 22nd May, 2019

Hello Vishal,

Hostel rooms in amrita are good. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls. 4 persons can occupy a room. Each room has separate bathrooms. But the problem is you have to clean the rooms and bathrooms. There is no room keeping. If you can manage with it you can choose it. Otherwise you can choose other colleges.

Hostel photos are available in their website, you can google it.

Good luck!

What is the difference between cse and cse artificial intelligence[which one have more scope]? Are these branches good at amrita university?

Rutik Bhandwalkar Student Expert 21st May, 2019

Hello Vishal,

Let it clear first that Artificial Intelligence is a part of Computer Science. Also AI is a subset of Computer Science. The theories and practices of computer science are always used for developing Artificial Intelligence Systems.

The key differences between Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence are:

1) CS is generic and wide concept whereas AI is an implementation.

2) AI is one of many fields in Computer Science.

3) AI is discipline belonging to CS.

Both CS and AI have scopes in market today. But AI is the future and it would have more scope in coming days.

There are very few colleges/university in India which provides CS with AI. But yes branches are good at Amrita University.

Hope it helps you!

Thank you.

How is CSE in Amrutha Bangalore. What about placement&packages?

Nikhil Sharma 29th May, 2018

Hii

Review of an individual studying CSE in Amrutha Bangalore-

I am currently studying CSE in Amrita University Coimbatore. I will give you pros and cons of studying here .

PROS:

  1. The scenic beauty is unmatchable. The climate is simply amazing.
  2. The library is really huge. You can also find various rare books here.
  3. You will find a great set of peers. They are going to be your gods. You will know why when you read the cons.
  4. Ragging is very rare and the repercussions are.. well.. extremely serious.

CONS:

  1. Food will make you regret joining here.
  2. Internet speed is never more than 70 KBPS. You will find lan cables in labs and library and the speed is good but many educational websites are blocked.
  3. The 75% compulsory attendance thing is really irritating. You will have a constant feeling that your time is getting wasted in the class but you have no choice.
  4. First year is no less than hell. The curriculum in the first year is complete crap . In the first sem there is not one core subject(CSE). Oh yeah.. I know people will tell CTPS(computational thinking for problem solving).. but that is a completely redundant subject if you're familiar with atleast one programming language.
  5. Hostel is good but laundry is why you will regret joining here. There is a service called quick smart wash which promises to return your clothes in 2 days. Well that's a completely farce. They give the clothes back in no less than a week and the most important thing… they charge you 200 per wash.
  6. Now.. the most important point.. lecturers. In the first year you almost won't find any good lecturer unless you are lucky.(I was somewhat lucky) Later on there are a few good lecturers but the others.. you will die sitting in their class. Here's where your friends can help you .
  7. The college clubs.. I am sorry to say.. I did not find them any good.. atleast the technology ones. There is a very good Foss club in the amritapuri campus but not here.
  8. As far as food is concerned..as I mentioned in the first point is bad. The canteen is not a any better.. and the worst part.. its not worth the money. Recently.. in the name of gst they simply raised the cost arbitrarily. It's really bad.

All the Best.
