Jyotiba Phule Womens College was started in the year 1973 located in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu is a well-reputed college. This, affiliated college recognized by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) comprises a large variety of undergraduate and post graduate courses. Located in a large area of 11.25 acres of land, the college currently has total students of 2127 and faculty members of 48. The institution offers twenty five courses in eight degree programs under arts, science, and commerce domain. Awake to the importance of women education, the college was established with 100% of female students, 90% at the undergraduate level and 10% at post graduate level.

It also awards B.Com degrees from college The B.Com degree is usually available in two categories which include B.Com general and B.Com supply chain & operations management. With regard to postgraduate programs it offers MA Tamil and English, M.Sc Mathematics, Chemistry and Computer science and M.Com. It also provides education in research through M.Phil and Ph.D for subjects like Tamil, Mathematics, Commerce, English and Chemistry.
