About Assam Engineering Institute, Guwahati
Assam Engineering Institute,Guwahati (AEI Guwahati) was established in 1948. It is one of the oldest technical institutes in the state of Assam. AEI Guwahati is approved by AICTE and is affiliated to State Council of Technical Education Assam. AEI Guwahati courses include diploma in engineering courses in 6 branches namely civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering, chemical engineering and computer engineering. Interested candidates should ensure to meet the AEI Guwahati eligibility criteria before applying to the institute. AEI Guwahati admissions are done on the basis of the Assam Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) conducted by DTE Assam.

AEI Guwahati facilities include classrooms, 12 workshops, library with a collection of 25000 books, playground, separate hostels for boys and girls, auditorium to seat 300 persons and canteen. AEI placements are managed by the training and placement cell of the institute. The cell provides placement assistance to students. It also conducts grooming and skill development sessions for its students.

Assam Engineering Institute is located at Chandmari in the middle of Guwahati city. The institute lies at a distance of 3 Km from the city railway station and 28 Km away from the city airport. Being in the heart of the city, the institute is easily reachable by auto, bus and cabs.

College Infrastructure
The college contains all the basics needed for the students . The college has the central library which contains all the books needed for the students.Hostels are somewhat good and rooms are decent enough. It contains fields for both cricket and football.

College Infrastructure
The college infrastructure has been improved a lot and now it is good. The college has all the basic laboratory facilities and equipments.Hostels are good enough and are well maintained .College campus was clean and hygenic.

College Infrastructure
Firstly, i would like to mention that the college infrastructure along with all necessary equipments were there in the college and each departmental laboratories. There were hostels for both boys n girls and well maintained by the college authorities.The library was also well organised.
