One of the most popular management institutes located in Malad West, Mumbai, is the Atharva Institute of Management Studies, established in 2003. The institute is a co-educational one and conducts all kinds of postgraduate management courses. The institute is approved by the University of Mumbai. AIMS has been accredited with 'A' grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The institute has a compact campus of 0.03859 acres with total student enrolment of 397 and faculty strength of 12. AIMS offers 5 courses across 4 degrees. Atharva Institute of Management Studies have a library of 364.04 sq. meters, with over 11,000 books, 51 periodicals, and 13 newspapers that can accommodate up to 150 students, and online access to e-journals through various databases. Its IT infrastructure is very strong, with two fully equipped computer labs and two seminar halls with ICT facilities. The institute also has a well-equipped gym of 100 sq. meters with modern equipment for keeping fit. In addition, there are air-conditioned and equipped auditoriums, where 460 people can be accommodated for seminars, workshops, and cultural programmes. Other facilities that are here include a cafeteria, sports facilities, a health centre where first-aid services are conducted, and Wi-Fi connectivity is available all over the campus.

The institute offers 5 postgraduate courses, which include a few that are full-time and the remainder part-time. Master of Management Studies and Postgraduate Diploma in Management are full-time flagship programmes. Master of Marketing Management, Master of Human Resource Development Management, and Master of Financial Management, among others, make up the list of part-time courses. 

The admission process to AIMS is competitively merit-based. CMAT, MH CET, or any equivalent score is accepted for the course MMS. In this regard, a little more flexibility is offered to the students coming in for the PGDM course, which can attempt CAT, MAT, XAT, and ATMA besides the first two. Provisional admission is permitted for final-semester students. Apart from the entrance test, AIMS also accepts other national-level entrance examinations like CAT, XAT, and MAT for its various courses.
