Balaji Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Narsampet (BIPS) is one of the leading institutes in supply of pharmacy education in the year 2005. The institute is in Laknepally, Narsampet, Warangal, Telangana and occupies an area of 1.2 acres of the land. It is affiliated college with Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) which offers B.A. in Pharmacy. A total intake of 428 students with a faculty of 59, the institute has offered 6 courses under four degree programs that focus on the vast field of pharmaceutical sciences. It is a co-educational school, and the student population has 240 boys and 268 girls.
Some of the latest amenities at BIPS redesigned to enhance student’s learning include; Facilities include fully equipped laboratory for pharmaceutics and pharmacy, giving students practical feel of what they are being prepared for. This is a centre for learning as it stocks a wide range of books and journals for the use of scholars. For students health BIPS offers some sports facilities and having different Gymnasium for Boys and Girls. It focuses on providing full spectrum of pharmacy education. At the undergraduate level BIPS has offered a four year degree programme in B.Pharma and intake capacity is one hundred students. The institute provides the following courses for postgraduate – M.Pharma Specializations for 15 seats with the following specializations – Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance, Pharmaceutics. BIPS also runs a 6 year Pharm.D program and a 2 year D.Pharma course which has a strength of 60 students. Altogether the institute provides 6 full-time courses at different course levels, providing various types of education in the sphere of pharma.
BIPS mainly follows the entrance examination procedure while admitting the students except for a few other methods like management quota, and other quotas. Available seats in each branch for B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D programmes are filled through the Telangana State Engineering agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). The admission process for M.Pharma programs for postgraduate level is conducted through Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET), Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT). The institute accepts applications for admissions from within and outside the state and for every 100 students, nearly 29 are from outside Telangana.
