Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) is a full-time two-year course offered by Punjabi University, Patiala, and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).

Eligibility Criteria

The admission to B.Ed. the course is done as per instructions of the Punjab government.
Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
There is a relaxation of 5% marks in favor of SC/BC candidates. Candidates with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories are not eligible.
Candidate must have studied the major subject of the subject combination for at least three years and minor for one year at Bachelor’s level/Master’s level.
Honors students can opt for a major subject in which they have obtained Honors, the minor subject should have been studied at least for one year.
In the case of students who have done Honors in Languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, and English, the major subject will be language. Such candidates would be allotted a minor subject by the college based on other subject option/s permissible to the candidate and the availability of the same in the college.

Admission Details

Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State government T administration and the University.
