Bachelor of Education(B.Ed) is a full-time two-year course offered by Punjabi University, Patiala, and approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).


Eligibility Criteria

  • The admission to B.Ed. the course is done as per instructions of the Punjab government.
  • Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s degree or any other qualification declared equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the program.
  • There is a relaxation of 5% marks in favor of SC/BC candidates. Candidates with less than 45% marks belonging to these categories are not eligible.
  • Candidate must have studied the major subject of the subject combination for at least three years and minor for one year at Bachelor’s level/Master’s level.
  • Honors students can opt for a major subject in which they have obtained Honors, the minor subject should have been studied at least for one year.
  • In the case of students who have done Honors in Languages such as Hindi, Punjabi, and English, the major subject will be language. Such candidates would be allotted a minor subject by the college based on other subject option/s permissible to the candidate and the availability of the same in the college.
  • Any B.ED Pass Candidate

Admission Details

Admission shall be made on merit based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or in the entrance examination or any other selection process as per the policy of the State government T administration and the University.
