Bharath College of Science and Management Thanjavur was set up in the year 2000. The college is located on Trichy Road near New Bus Stand and occupies an area of 11.47 acres. The student enrolment is 2,161, while the faculty with 75 strength offers academic programmes with a total of 30 courses available on 11 degree programmes. Particularly, the Bharath College of Science and Management  statutory educational activity is well-reflected in its diverse educational programmes which include science, management, technology and many more.

Established to improve the learning experience of its students, the Bharath College of Science and Management offers numerous facilities. There is an ample number of books – basically more than 4,000 volumes of books – and it has dictionaries, general and art books, journals, magazines and encyclopaedias on almost all fields of study. The institution has well-equipped laboratories for differential specialisation in computer and information sciences, chemistry and food and nutrition, biochemistry, microbiology, biotechnology and physics. Moreover, other facilities include a training kitchen/training restaurant /model bedroom for hospitality management students and dyeing and designing laboratories for fashion technology students.

There are thirty courses available in the Bharath College of Science and Management, comprising both the undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The courses being taught include B.Sc Hotel Management & Catering Technology, B.Sc Fashion Technology & Costume Design, B.Sc Visual Communication & Biotechnology, M.Sc Information Technology & Biotechnology, M.Sc Hotel Management & Catering Science, and M.Sc Food Service Management & Dietetics. BCA, BBA, and B.Com are also taught in the college, and it also offers different M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees. All the programmes are day programmes, which means that they are all full-time courses and come in a variety to accommodate the different fields of interest for students who have different goals in their future careers.

The admission policy of the Bharath College of Science and Management is made simpler to allow more and more students to enrol in the college. There are two sections of hostels available in the college for boys and girls separately. In the mess also, there is a dividing system of operations. In this regard, for those students travelling from different places within Thanjavur district as well as other parts of Tamil Nadu, the college offers transport to and fro by bus.
