The Bharati Vidyapeeth (BVP) runs a group of institutions spread in different cities, and spanning a diverse range of academic areas. The first campus was begun in the city of Pune, in Maharashtra state. This was back in 1964, started by the renowned academician Shri Patangrao Kadam. Since then, the group has expanded to add more campuses in Pune itself, plus others in different parts of Maharashtra in the cities of Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, Panchganj and in Satara. There is also a campus in New Delhi. And there is an international campus in Dubai, which is in the UAE (United Arab Emirates). The year 1996 saw the Bharati Vidyapeeth being recognized as a Deemed University by the UGC (University Grants Commission).
At present, the group trains students for courses on – Agriculture, Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda, Nursing, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Environment Science, Catering Technology, Homeopathy and Hotel Management, besides a few more areas. This equals a total of seventy- eight schools and sixty institutes dealing with higher educations. A few of these are also into professional courses. Some schools at the K- 12 level are also operated by the group in Maharashtra.
The Bharati Vidyapeeth’s College of Engineering (BVCOE) is located in West Delhi. It was established in the year 1999, just on the cusp of the millennium closing in. It is affiliated to the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). This affiliation ensures the approval of the UGC. The courses here have also been ratified by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The BVCOE focuses its academics entirely at the undergrad level. There are several B. Tech options in the engineering areas of- Instrumentation and Control, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Science and for Electronics & Communication. There are separate departments for each of these areas. These departments in turn are responsible for the entire academic operations.
There is also the Department of Applied Science. This one takes care of the fundamental sciences such as physics, chemistry and mathematics. The BVCOE has also always believed in providing benefits to the broader society. The students here have likewise been instilled with such value. And that is why the students here have been active participants in government schemes such as the NSS (National Service Scheme). Another area of much importance to the institute is entrepreneurship. This is why the Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) has been an active forum here. It helps develop the budding entrepreneurs among the students for the institute. Experienced trainers and entrepreneurs are invited to campus to deliver guest lectures and interact with those who have such business models.
Research is another very important area here at the BVOE. An International Conference on Data Sciences, Security and Applications (ICDSSA) was held on campus. The Taylor and Francis group was the main knowledge partner to this. The college also releases its own peer- reviewed academic journal. It is titled as the Journal of Multi- Disciplinary Engineering Technologies. A newsletter is also published on campus, titled the Chakshu. Unlike the journal, this one is more of a student- driven initiative. The BVCOE even has its own IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) Cell to document the developments curated on campus. Patents have been filed from the separate departments.
The BVCOE campus has much to offer. A lot of the facilities are shared with the sister concern for the field of management- BVIMR (Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Management and Research). The campus is situated right next to one of the most prominent stations on the Green Line of the Delhi Metro network. There is a girls’ hostel within the campus. A lot of the outstation boys take up PG facility just outside. There is a sports field where cricket and football may be played. Facilities are also there for indoor sports. The gymnasium may also be used by all. A large auditorium is there to facilitate major events, at both intra and inter college level. A health centre is also there to cater to medical emergencies. Hygienic food is prepared at the college cafeteria. The library here is one of the best stocked within the region. Besides the physical books on display, it also provides digital access to en number of international academic journals for research and academic purposes.
All this has contributed to the healthy ranks received by the college. It has been placed within the AAA category by the Careers 360 magazine for the engineering category. The placements have likewise gone good at the BVCOE. Some of the key recruiters in recent seasons have been the likes of- Amazon, Aricent, Airtel, NIIT, Nagarro, LIBSYS, EY, Dyson, HSBC, Iris Software, Paytm, Samsung, Sapient, TCS, WAC, ZS Associates, Mahindra Comviva, Global Logic, Svam International and many more. The Alumni Cell here is also extremely proactive, leveraging the substantial numbers of past students, who now grace the walls at top companies, or started their own.
Careers360 shortlists over 5000 colleges across domains each year. Out of these colleges, only those colleges are rated/ranked which provide transparent data requested by Careers360. The cumulative scores of colleges are then calculated and they are divided into clusters as per their scores. Careers360 ranks private and government colleges separately as the support system of both types of Institutions is completely different.
Based on the individual scores secured by colleges in cumulative score that they have received.
The colleges are ranked as per the cumulative score that they have received. The college that has got the maximum cumulative score will be ranked first while the college that has got least cumulative score will be ranked last.
