BIT Mesra is indubitably one of the best engineering institutions in India. It is one of the largest campuses in India- 780 acres to be precise. 1. Faculty: Most of the lectures are by the permanent faculty members who reside on campus, ensuring steady support for the students. 2. Infrastructure: The campus has an enormous library which houses almost all books that one would need for engineering. The Internet connectivity is also very good. However, the student account is controlled by the institute to prevent misuse. The laboratories are also decent; one gets all supplies and technical support; which means you actually have to do the experiments yourself. 3. Campus activities: There are many competitions and fests organized in the campus. There are many student clubs one could join to suit one's interests. 4. Location: The campus is a little far away from the main city. So the institute provides buses which connect the campus to the city. There are fixed schedules for these buses. As students, we always preferred this mode of transport; we could safely travel for all our needs. 5. Placements: BIT Mesra offers very good placement for all students. Since it is a very old and reputed institution, BIT alumni are at top positions ensuring that most of the big names visit the campus. The placement committee ensures 100% placements; some students even get multiple offers. Personally, I believe BIT Mesra gave a good headstart to my career. The 4 years I spent at the college were worth the fees and the effort.

Birla institute of technology,mesra is a deemed university under the UGC act,1956 is one of the most advanced engineering colleges in INDIA. it is a technically oriented institute of higher education located 18km fro ranchi which is the heart of Jharkhand state.it is widely known college for its adroit and experienced faculty and for its excellent academics. BIT Mesra functions under the control of a Board of governors,comprising representatives of the minister of human resources development, a indiagovernmenIndia,the U.G.C.,the state government the chancellor,the A.I.C.T.E.,the Hindustan charity trust and the institute faculty.CK Birla is the chairman of the board of governors.the governor of the state of Jharkhand is the chancellor of the institute,the technical council headed by vice-chancellor decides the academic policy of the institute. It is located 18km from the ranchi city in a 780 acre setting at the water meet of the rivers jhummar and suvarnarekha.it is entirely residential campus providing lodging to both undergraduate and postgraduate including 600 members of staff and faculty. classes are conducted five days a week starting from 8:00am in the morning till 5:00pm in the evening which includes two hours of lunchresses. Students studying in BIT mesra are tested by * MID sem exams in every sem.(for 25 marks).with 3 modules of syllabus. * Two quizzes in every seam which may include assignments also.(each 15 marks best of two will be taken). * at end of the sem END sem exams are conducted.(for 60 marks). DEPARTMENTS: BIT Mesra provides with 20 academic departments.it offers both undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees in various engineering departments.MSc degrees are offered in applied sciences and B.Pharm/M.pharm in pharmaceutical sciences.the university also offers master of business administration(MBA) program and also the bachelor of hotel management and catering technology(BHMCT).
