Buddha College of Teacher Education was started in the year 2005 and it is one of the best teacher training colleges in Alappuzha, Kerala state. This coeducational college of women is affiliated with Kerala University and is designed for the training of teachers for him. The college is spread across 9 acres of land and is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in the field of teaching. Combined with an overall student enrolment of 103, and 18 faculty members, Buddha College provides an intimate educational platform. 

Buddha College of Teacher Education is affiliated with Kerala University. Establishment includes a complete set and variety of resources developed to facilitate learning and personal development of college students. Modern school library is equipped to support the needs of learners with relevant learning materials for research and learning. Buddha college of teacher education conducts its information technology to help students learn more about current advancements in the course. Extra facilities include the college sports complex and an auditorium for functions and seminars. The programmes in Buddha College of Teacher Education are specially crafted and revolve mostly around education courses. The college provides three full-time programmes, such as Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Master of Education (M.Ed), and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). 

Admission to Buddha College of Teacher Education depends mostly on marks scored in examinations, showing the college’s focus on education quality. In the case of the B.Ed and M.Ed programmes, the admissions are in accordance with the merit of the candidates as evident from the qualifying examination. On similar lines, the BE, ME, B.Pharma, and M.Pharma admissions are based on the marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination, as per the norms prescribed by the State Government/UT Administration for the D.El.Ed. The college also has an add-on course called Training and Placement Cell to support the students in getting a job.
