The Cambridge Institute of Technology was founded in 2001. The institute was established as a preferred centre for scientific and technical education under the guidance of Late Dr. Bahadur Singh, an educationist and social reformer. The Cambridge Trust of India, a registered body under the Indian Trust Act, promoted the institute. The trust's board of governors is composed of educationists, technocrats, social workers, and philanthropists. Today, the institute is one of the country's premier engineering institutes, having grown and flourished quickly since its inception. The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) in New Delhi approves the institute, which is affiliated with the Jharkhand University of Technology, a government of Jharkhand organisation. The institute's sprawling campus is surrounded by hillocks, providing a picturesque natural environment ideal for academic pursuits.
