    The College of Agriculture, Bangalore was founded in 1946 and is one of the constituent Colleges of the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore. Sitting on the Bellary Road in the Gandhi Krishi Vignan Kendra central, this prestigious college has been providing leading agricultural education for more than seventy years. The college provides a wide array of courses that covers many specialisations in agriculture, with 5 courses in four levels of degrees. With a faculty of 100 dedicated professionals, the college assures an effective learning facility to its learners.

    The College of Agriculture, Bangalore has fully equipped academic and infrastructural amenities intended for the overall development of the students. There are far-reaching facilities in the learning institution of particular notable is the library which provides a wide database of books, journals, theses, and reference materials through the Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC). The role of the library in the advancement of digital support is demonstrated by an active presence in the e-Granth project and the creation of an ongoing video library. Geeks too will have much to keep themselves busy with nineteen different games and sports which one can join depending with the kind of game or sport one is interested in say for instance cricket, football and basketball. The college also has good-sized gyms and fitness centres to ensure the leading active and healthy lives. For learners who live in the compound there are boys and girls’ hostels with facilities that include common rooms and indoor games, cafeteria that is operated and maintained by students.

    The courses at the College of Agriculture, Bangalore comprises of various programmes for students at different levels of learning in agriculture. The school offers 5 programmes as full-time studies at the bachelor, master and doctoral degrees. The undergraduate programmes are B.Tech in Agricultural Engineering which takes four years, B.Sc in Agriculture and B.Sc Agriculture in Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation both lasting for four years. As for master’s degree programmes, the college provides education within the frames of the M.Sc in Agriculture that lasts for two years. Furthermore, interested researcher can take up Doctor of Philosophy in Agriculture which normally takes six academic years to complete. However, the current data regarding the total number of seats admitted and the recent pass out strength is lacking, the tradition of the college assures a considerable input to the human resource development of agricultural sector.

    The admission procedures in the College of Agriculture, Bangalore is to ensure that student are selected that has potential for the offer course/programme. It remains unclear which specialised tests are taken, although most agricultural institutions may use either national or state entrance tests.     GKVK is having one of the beautiful lush green campus spread over more than 1300 acres but coming to infrastructure recently constructed laboratories is having necessary equipment but is limited to research purpose. Old labs and old buildings need upgradation
