Dr SR Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing, Bangalore was established in 1977. Dr. S. R. Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing's main aim is to establish itself as a centre of excellence by assessing speech and language disorders accurately. And committed to fostering communication abilities, unlocking potential, and facilitating connections by offering comprehensive methods of the learning process. The branches in which the courses are offered are Audiology, Speech and Education. 

Dr SR Chandrasekhar Institute of Speech and Hearing courses are DEd, BASLP, PGD, MSc, MASLP and PhD. Admission into DEd is given based on the entrance exam score conducted by RCI whereas merit scores are considered for admission into UG and PG courses while admission into doctoral programmes is given based on merit followed by an interview process.
