Institute: Entrepreneurship and Management Processes International, New D....
The Entrepreneurship and Management Process Institute (EMPI) is located at the heart of the national capital of New Delhi. It was established in the year 1995. Its full- fledged management programmes are approved by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education). The institute has a picturesque campus in the Chhatarpur area of South Delhi, adjacent to the Asola Wildlife Sanctuary. For students studying here, the location itself is a relief from urban chaos. EMPI has always striven to achieve the perfect balance in business management between the key stakeholders which are the Academica, Public Policy, Civil Society and Technology.
Both full- fledged management education as well as short- term certifications are on offer here. The flagship programme is the two- year AICTE approved PGDM (Post Graduate Diploma in Management). This may be availed for a number of specializations. One is the PGDM in General Management, where the student is free to choose the specialization in the second year, after he/she has gone through the basic of all the streams in the first. The others are where the choice is from day one. They are the PGDMs in the areas of- Human Resources, Global Business and in Research & Business Analytics. In addition to these three specializations, students of the General Management programme may also opt for the Advertising Communication area in the second year of study. Admissions to these programmes is via the CAT exam. Post the results of the CAT being declared, shortlisted students need to appear for the PI (Personal Interview)- WAT (Written Ability Test) round. Scores of other nationally recognized exams are also considered for selection.
The EMPI has long been a pioneer in forging close ties between the industry and academia. To take this concept further ahead, the institute has partnered with several leading corporates to help in curriculum and design and train students to be more employable. Professionals from these corporates periodically take sessions on campus, so students get insights on the real happenings in the business world. Another contribution is that they have curated several short- term industry- oriented courses. These are mainly in the form of one- year PGP (Post Graduate Programmes). One of them is the PGP in Talent Acquisition and HR Operations, in collaboration with the Man Power Group. Three more such PGPs are run in conjunction with IBM. These are for- Research & Business Analytics, Digital & Social Media Marketing and in E- Commerce.
Certifications for even shorter durations have also been curated with leading industry players. One of them is the Executive Certificate Programme in Facility Management. This is meant for professionals working in the area. The student list selection and the academic execution is done by EMPI in collaboration with JLL (Jones Lang Lasalle) and the Man Power Group. Another such programme is the International India Innovations Programme. This programme may be pursued by the students in separate capsules for each module. These modules are for- Market Research, Media Innovations and Innovations Appreciation, plus a combined programme with inputs from all three. These companies have also built innovation labs on campus. IBM has done for Social Business and for Business Analytics, while JLL done for Real Estate and Man Power Group the HR along with Safe Express.
Similarly, the EMPI has also forged ties for students to take up a part of their study abroad. An MoU has been signed with the Seneca College in Toronto, Canada. Both student and faculty exchange agreements are in place with Seneca. In addition, the two also collaborate on research and over consulting assignments. There are other such partner institutions all over the world in countries such as- USA, Japan, Mexico, France, UK, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong SAR, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Poland, Puerto Rico, Finland, Taiwan, Philippines, Nigeria and Norway. The Innovative India International Centre (IIIC) has been formed on campus to further the aims of business innovation. The idea is that native technologies from India can be reaped globally.
Another area of focus for the EMPI is entrepreneurship development. That is why the Entrepreneurship and Management Process International has been set up on campus, with the tagline of Innovating Futures. Budding entrepreneurs are provided with inputs on domain, content and the overall business ecosystem. Industrial visits are conducted as part of this, such as the one to Yakult premises. Students also participated in Case Study Competition held by CASCOM. The Udai Pareek Human Resource Laboratory for Applied Behavioural Sciences (UPHR- LABS) has been set up on campus to further these aims and for talent management.
Due to the now substantial history that the EMPI has forged, alumni of the college are placed with leading MNCs. Some such organizations where EMPI alumni can be found are the likes of- Accenture, Flipkart, Fed Ex, Zomato, WNS, HDFC Bank, EY, Dell, Axis Bank, Croma, Safe Express, Entrepreneur Magazine, Game Loft, Group M, Jabong, Ford, Payback, Groupon, SAP, Snap Deal, Micromax, Maersk, Wave Infratech, Reliance Trends, Koncept Webitisement, Yahoo! and the Times Internet besides several others. These companies have been amongst the leading recruiters in recent seasons, besides other such as BHEL, Berger Paints, Blue Star, Canon, Cadbury, Asian Paints, Aramex, ABN- AMRO, Bajaj Capital, Capital IQ, CMC, Dabur, Coca- Cola, Deutsche Bank, Evalueserve, Fidelity, Grasim, Genpact, HUL, IMRB, HCL and more.
