GIET College of Engineering, Rajahmundry was established in the year 2008. This is one of the notable institutions from the premises of Andhra Pradesh, India. The affiliated college basks in Chaitanya Knowledge City along NH-5, sprawling over a vast area of 10.975 acres. GIET offers diverse engineering and management courses; it has a total of 8 courses spread over 3 degree levels. Various institutes offer B.Tech full-time programmes like Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, while MCA, MBA are available at PG level in the college. Among all courses, B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering are offered to the highest intake of 180, followed by B.Tech in Information Technology with 90 seats.

Admission into GIET College Of Engineering is based on merit. In the case of B.Tech programmes, 70% seats available at Category A based on ranks obtained in EAMCET or JEE. Open for admissions from candidates of other states, Union Territories and NRI-sponsored candidates. Category B has 30% of the seats. The supernumerary quota of the seats is provided by the college itself, in excess of 15% of the approved intake per course. GIET accepts scores of two major entrance exams viz., JEE Main and AP EAMCET.
