GITAM Institute of Pharmacy, Visakhapatnam was established in the year 2006. The institute is one of the premier institutions that offer Pharmaceutical Education and Research. The location of the institute is at Gandhi Nagar, Rushikonda, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. This institute is approved by the Pharmacy Council of India. GITAM Institute of Pharmacy offers 11 courses at three degree levels. B.Pharma., M.Pharma., and Ph.D. This institute has specialised in various pharmaceutical disciplines with a faculty strength of 25 members. The Gitam Institute of Pharmacy offers a versatile postgraduate program in various principal areas of this field. The undergraduate program offered is a B.Pharma course, and for the postgraduate courses, there are five programs. M.Pharma Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance. Five doctoral programs are offered as Ph.D. one in each of Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, and Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry.

GITAM Institute of Pharmacy presents admission majorly on the basis of GITAM Admission Test, popularly known as GITAM GAT. For undergraduate admissions, the candidate shall appear for GAT (UGTP) and for postgraduate admissions, on the basis of GAT (PGP) entrance examination.
